Federation's new Dojang at Indah Garden.
[Melaka Sept 09]
Finally, ICTF Melaka has a home!
Located at Indah Garden of Bukit Bruang, adjacent to Air Keroh DAP's office, the new dojang's Opening Ceremony was officiated by President Joe Cariati of ICTF from Canada and the 9th Degree Taekwon-Do Grand Master Teoh Cheng Hoe.
The dojang was honored to have Joe Cariati to officiate the opening ceremony while he and his Canadian entourage were conducting a Taekwon-Do and self-defense seminar in Melaka.
During his speech, Joe Cariati said Taekwon-Do and self-defense martial arts are present in any part of the world. This is the result of dedicated masters who have devoted time to teach the martial arts to their students.
He said he is especially touched to see Taekwon-Do is practiced by many different races in Malaysia.
In addition, the President of ICTF Melaka, Chong Swee Teck, said, Taekwon-Do came into Malaysia many years ago. ICTF will continue to develop and set up its bases in many other places in the days to come.
He said, ICTF Melaka has approximately 200 members at present, ranging from age 6 to 72.
The Federation was also taking the opportunity of those present to present promotion certificates to the members, included in the list were Teoh Cheng Hoe being promoted to the highest prestige of Black Belt 9th Dan, Chong Swee Teck to Black Belt 5th Dan, and Roszaleigh to Black Belt 4th Dan.

AUGUST 2008
Canada
On May 21, 2008, Mr. Don Stacey was awarded the Pride Of Strathcona Award in recognition of his 30 years of TKD teaching.
Here is the entry from the Program given during the Presentation Ceremonies:
Don Stacey leads by example. The TaeKwon-Do instructor with a contagious laugh strives for excellence in himself and his students-- and his students rise to the challenge.
Don is so renowned for his patience, enthusiasm and persistence as the head instructor at the Phoenix TaeKwon-Do Club in Sherwood Park that his students credit him with teaching much more than martial arts skills-- they also learn compassion, acceptance of others, and Perseverance. His students say Don is their loudest, most tireless supporter and they appreciate him for it.
While guiding his students to their black belts, Don has also chalked up his own achievements. He's been practicing TaeKwon-Do for 30 years and has attained his 5th dan black belt.
Don has been involved in the sports scene in Strathcona County for three decades and during this time he has used his skills to teach, mentor and motivate hundreds of martial artists.
The ICTF congratulates Mr. Stacey on his great achievements and this wonderful award.
Special thanks to Raj Dhaliwal for submitting this wonderful story about one of our outstanding members.

APRIL 2008
United Kingdom
Congratulations to all Students who participated in the TKD Exhibition on Saturday April 26th. Nearly 200 Spectators filled the Chapel Allerton venue. The atmosphere was electric. The Students all performed brilliantly and showed just a sample of the techniquess that they have learnt during their Taekwondo careers so far. The adults then showed their destruction skills and performed some patterns. Finally, the Student’s dedicated their final two performances to their families and friends as a thank you for helping to make their training possible. The positive feedback was overwhelming and hopefully this has inspired some of the audience to take up Taekwondo and has definately inspired the rest of us to keep training hard, getting ready for the many events that are coming up this year for NTX Schools. Thank you once again to the audience, your payment at the door has been split between a substantial donation to the School to help them with maintenance and also a large donation to the R.S.P.C.A. . NTX Schools will always endeavour to support charities and our venues alike. We realise that the venues help and support allows us to continue to pioneer Taekwondo.
